getting back to life…
just read this article written by actress shiri appleby (of roswell, life unexpected, and dating rules from my future self): “my ex is famous and so am i: breaking up in the limelight”.

following a breakup of any sort, there’s that depression we get into. there’s a lot of emotional upheaval and drama and i think shiri definitely broke it down to a very simple and effective line: “That’s all I really want to know when a relationship is over: Did our time together mean anything?” so true.
another thing? she’s a pretty humorous writer! i love it: “Nothing makes getting over a guy faster than seeing him be the worst actor ever in the biggest bomb of the season. If I could sell that experience, I’d never have to work again, which means I’d never have to audition again, which means I’d be the happiest girl on the planet.”
overall, i love this line, because no matter what kind of relationship has ended, this rings true for everyone: “Heartbreak is heartbreak is heartbreak. I mean, we’re all losing the same thing, right? We’re all losing the feeling of being chosen, aren’t we?”
btw, this article is not all down in the dumps. she has written it to talk about the pain, emotional insecurities, and hurt we can experience, but also to say it gets better. that the way it gets better is an active decision and that there will be something else in the future.
a fan of hers since roswell, i’m so glad to see her back on screen doing something so different from the teen dramas that i was used to :)
