getting back to life...
just read this article written by actress shiri appleby (of roswell, life unexpected, and dating rules from my future self): “my ex is famous and so am i: breaking up in the limelight”.
following a breakup of any sort, there’s that depression we get into. there’s a lot of emotional upheaval and drama and i think shiri definitely broke it down to a...

printing?
my new wall calendar (courtesy of my sis)! :D it’s a new year and after her visit, i’ve decided to move forward with some projects i’d been thinking of. having done some motivational saying posters (like the “punch today in the face”), i’ve been wanting to make some prints. probably screen printing or letterpress. i’ve been wondering, though, where...

reflecting on your life...
i like how this holiday season there’s a ton of motivational/growing up-type excerpts and lists going around. the other day there was a “30 things to stop doing to yourself” article that’s probably something we already know about ourselves but have a difficult time implementing. changing habits is hard and scary…
This is the thing: When you hit 28 or 30, everything...

gifts!
i love travel stuff. i might not travel much, but the products out there that help people organize their lives have me constantly on the look out. also, looking for a new weekender/gym/duffel bag and these are some that i like:
[1] west elm canvas electronic cases ($9-$24), [2] sephora clear bag collection-smoke ($30), [3] maptote’s USA blue grocery tote ($20), [4] element team duffel...

long weekend
hope you all had a good turkey day! i ate tons of food and then went shooting yesterday. yup, shooting. my second time at the range and i got to try out a shotgun and a rifle (the sight was messed up, unfortunately). BUT, my roomie and i successfully shot skeet! (two at a time).
so, my no. 9 on the happy list? that CHK-CHK sound when you rack the gun. :D

hello, monday
NO. 7 on the happy list: dancing with friends.
NO. 8: cooking with friends
this weekend was full of fun and relaxing. i drove up to berkeley friday night to party with my girls in the city. having known each other for over 10 years, this was the first time we’ve ever cut loose together! this is what happens when you’re really well-behaved in HS and don’t go to the same...

no.6
this post by heather armstrong of dooce. more specifically, this excerpt:
How ridiculous is that song? Am I actually admitting out loud on the permanent Internet that I love it? That when I hear it my chest swells with the capacity of Hurculean lungs? If I am sitting down when I hear this song I am compelled to move at least one if not more parts of my body, so imagine what happens if I hear it...

in a slump
i’ve been in a slump lately—an unsatisfied with my life kind of slump. as a self-reflective person, i tend to analyze and think about my situations often to evaluate my mental, emotional, and physical health/happiness. sometimes, in the frustration of not being where i want or being as happy as i should, i lose sight of what i DO have and benefit from.
the other day, i posted about...
